Established as the first regional Interfaith Council in Aotearoa New Zealand.

We exist to:

  • foster mutual understanding and good relations between religions and faiths along with humanitarian traditions;

  • initiate, facilitate, co-ordinate and/or lead action to society at large on behalf of any or all of these in respect of religious issues and socio-religious traditions and relationships;

  • act as a channel for research and discussion, education, advisory and consultative capacity to the community at large.

Membership of the council.

The Wellington Interfaith Council is a membership based incorporated society.

Members meet monthly on the third Monday of the month online for one hours, and plan activities and events.

Activities are guided by an elected executive committee representing Baha’i, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim, Sikh, and Tangata Whenua representatives.
